A helper of your own
For a chore none of your other helpers covers.
What it's for
If you have a chore that your other helpers don't cover, describe it to Gregory in your own words, and he builds a helper for it. Like every helper, it's an AI and it's labelled as one.
Your helper can:
- Work on a schedule: every morning, every Monday, or on the 1st of the month.
- Start when something happens in your app: a new customer, a changed booking, or a cancelled order.
- Use your records: who owes what, whose appointment is tomorrow, or what's overdue.
- Write and send emails, asking you first while it's new.
- Follow up until it's done, and hand it to you when it needs a person.
- Send to the tools you've connected.
- Use AI where it helps: writing a friendly message, sorting enquiries, or summarising notes.
Getting things from outside your app
Your helper never reads outside your app. When it needs something from outside, Iris reads it, in one of two ways:
- On a schedule: she watches it and hands it over. Every Monday Iris reads your supplier's price list, and your own helper updates your prices.
- On the spot: your helper asks her while it's working, for example to check that a new booking's address is real.
You set this up by telling Gregory.
Asking for one
Tell Gregory the chore and how you'd like it handled. For example: "Chase late payers until each one pays, and tell me about anyone who disputes it." You don't need to know how it's built.
If it's a fixed rule, such as a reminder 7 days after the due date, you may not need a helper at all. Gregory will tell you.
Tested and checked
A new helper or job goes through the same steps as any other change. It's tested and checked before it starts, and nothing goes live until you say so.
Once it's running
It asks first while it's new. Once enough of its emails have gone out without changes, it offers to send without asking. You can switch Ask me first back on any time.
It works like your other helpers: Needs you, Activity, asking first and pausing. Any AI it uses comes from your AI allowance.
