Carlos, your web designer

Carlos makes your business's website from what your app knows, and helps keep it current.

Starting your website

Carlos is an AI, and he doesn't begin until you ask, so no AI is spent on a website you don't want. Open Carlos, right below Gregory, and choose Start my website.

Carlos introducing himself, explaining that the website comes from what the app knows and that nothing goes live until you say so, with a Start my website button.
Example from the made-up Fernbrook Grooming.

He asks a few quick questions, and you can skip any of them: your website now, what goes first, your pages, how it should sound, your colours and your photos. When he needs a stock photo, Iris searches a photo library for him, which uses no AI. If you already have a website, you can choose Start from my current site or Start fresh.

Looking at your draft

He tries the draft on a phone and a computer, then tells you in Needs you when it's ready. You see the real thing, side by side, and the links and pages work.

A draft website shown on a phone and on a computer side by side, with the buttons Not yet, Change something and Publish it.
Example: a draft for the made-up Fernbrook Grooming.
  • Publish it: your website goes live.
  • Change something: say what's different, and he shows you again.
  • Not yet: nothing goes live, and nobody else can see it.

Carlos always asks. Unlike Judy, he never publishes by himself, and that can't be switched off, because your website is public.

These come straight from your app, so your website changes when they do. Your customers' details, your money and anything private are never used.

Changing your website

  • A word or a photo: click it and change it yourself. This is free and uses no AI.
  • Anything else: ask Carlos in your own words. This uses your AI allowance.

You aren't limited to the pages he starts with. He can add, change or remove pages, and add galleries, slideshows, animation, your own photos, YouTube videos and Google Maps. Tell him what you want, in your own words.

If you ask for something a website here can't have, like a social media feed, another company's booking widget or a video file, he tells you and says what he can do instead.

Either way, it goes into a draft. Your live website doesn't change until you publish.

Weekly suggestions

Each week, Carlos looks for what's new in your app and suggests updates in Needs you for you to approve. You can change how often.

Putting back an earlier version

Choose Put back this version on an earlier version. Today's version is kept, so you can bring it back too.

Your website's address

It starts at an ask-gregory.com address. If you connect your own domain, your website gets the domain itself, and your app moves to app.yourdomain. Your email keeps working, and if you have a website there now, it stays up until the switch. Old page addresses forward to your new pages.

Carlos can also help you with your Google Business Profile, your free listing on Google Search and Maps.

If you're stuck

Ask Gregory. He answers questions about your app and tells you where to do things, and questions are free. You can also email support@ask-gregory.com.
