What this website, the Ask us chat and the waitlist keep about you, why, and how to have it removed. In plain words.

Who we are

Ask Gregory builds apps for small businesses. In this policy, "we" means the Ask Gregory team. You can reach us at privacy@ask-gregory.com.

What this policy covers

This website (ask-gregory.com), the Ask us chat on it, and the waitlist. A separate policy for Ask Gregory apps — and the information your business keeps in its app — will be published before sign-up opens.

Visiting the website

  • We don't use cookies, analytics or advertising trackers.
  • The fonts and everything else on these pages come from our own servers, so your visit isn't reported to anyone else.
  • Like any website, our server sees your device's internet address when it sends you a page. We don't keep it in a record about you.

Asking a question in the Ask us chat

The Ask us box is answered by Judy, an AI. If you ask her something, we keep:

  • what you asked, and her answers;
  • a random number your browser keeps for this site, in its own storage (not a cookie). It keeps one visit's questions together as one chat, and counts the 20 questions each visitor can ask a day;
  • your email address, only if Judy can't answer and you'd like the answer sent to you. We use it only to send that answer.

To write her answers, your questions are sent to Anthropic, whose AI (Claude) Judy uses.

To stop the chat being overused, we count the questions from each internet address in a day. That count is kept in memory only and forgotten the next day. Your internet address isn't stored.

Chats are kept for 12 months, then deleted.

Joining the waitlist

When you join, we keep what you type into the form:

  • your name and email address;
  • your business's name, and what it does;
  • how you heard about us, if you tell us.

We use it for one thing: to contact you about Ask Gregory — to tell you when it's your turn, and to talk about whether it fits your business. We don't send newsletters from it, and we never sell it or give it to anyone else.

To stop the same form being sent over and over, we briefly note how many times it's been sent from your internet address. That count is kept in memory for an hour and isn't stored with your details.

Where it's kept, and who sees it

Your details and chats are kept on servers we run ourselves, with Hetzner, in Germany. Only the Ask Gregory team can see them, apart from the questions Anthropic's AI reads to answer them.

How long we keep it

Until you're welcomed in, until we agree it isn't a fit, or until you ask us to remove it. If we haven't been in touch for 12 months, we delete it.

Your choices

Email privacy@ask-gregory.com and we'll show you what we have about you, correct it, or delete it, including a chat. We usually do it within a few days. Deleting it takes you off the waitlist.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update it here and change the date at the top. If you're on the waitlist and the change matters to you, we'll email you.
